When Termly is the better choice

Termly is built for websites that need more than documents. If you run ads or analytics for visitors in the EU or the UK and need a cookie consent banner, automatic cookie scanning and blocking, or consent records, Termly covers that in one product, and its paid plans add features like multi-language policies. Legiflare doesn't include a cookie banner.

When Legiflare fits better

  • You need several documents for free. A privacy policy, terms of service, a refund policy and an EULA, without a per-website subscription.
  • You don't have a website. App Store Connect and the Google Play Console only need a public URL. On Termly's Free and Starter plans you place the policy's HTML on your own site; Legiflare hosts it for you at no cost.
  • You want to edit the text directly. Start from a template and change any section in the editor, instead of answering a questionnaire.
  • You maintain policies for several apps. Each one gets its own link, all from one account.

How to move a policy from Termly to Legiflare

  1. Open your current policy and copy its text.
  2. In Legiflare, create a new document and paste the text into the editor, or start from the template and copy across the parts that are specific to you.
  3. Review the policy, update the "Last updated" date and publish it.
  4. Replace the old link in your website footer, App Store Connect, the Google Play Console and inside your app.

If you also use Termly's cookie banner, keep it or move to another consent tool before you cancel, so your website keeps asking for consent where required.

Frequently asked questions

Is Legiflare really free compared to Termly?

Yes. Creating, editing and hosting documents on Legiflare is free, with no limit on the number of documents. Termly's free plan includes one basic policy without hosting, and hosted policies start with its Pro+ plan, priced per website.

Does Legiflare include a cookie consent banner?

No. Legiflare focuses on writing and hosting legal documents. If your website needs a cookie banner, use a dedicated consent tool alongside your Legiflare cookie policy.

Can I use a Legiflare link in App Store Connect and Google Play?

Yes. Published documents are public web pages that load without a login, which is what both stores require.
