Privacy Policy — Card Trail
Effective Date: September 20, 2026
Provided by Card Trail (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us"). This privacy policy explains how your information is handled when using the app.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
Card Trail stores information locally to enable various features:
- Local Account Information: If you create an account, this includes your chosen name, email address, and a locally generated account identifier.
- Authentication Information: Salted password hashes stored in the iOS Keychain, used to verify your password. Your password is not stored in plain text.
- Game Progress: Completed levels, experience points (XP), dates of completed daily challenges, milestone rewards, and information used to display achievements.
- Preferences and Session Information: Settings such as haptic feedback preferences and the currently active local profile.
Guest mode does not require a name, email address, or password.
2. How Information Is Used
The app uses this information to verify local logins, restore your progress, display achievements, apply preferences, and prevent duplicate reward claims.
Your email address serves solely as a local account identifier. The app does not use it to send marketing materials, verification emails, or password reset emails.
3. Local Storage and Backups
The current version does not transmit your account details or game progress to servers operated by us. We do not offer cloud-based accounts, cross-device synchronization, or remote password recovery.
Depending on your settings, some app data may be included in device backups managed by Apple or your computer. These backups exist independently of any services operated by us.
4. Sharing, Advertising, and Tracking
Card Trail does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or social login services. It does not track you across other apps or websites, access your advertising identifier, or sell or rent your personal information.
The built-in game guide displays content bundled with the app.
5. Data Retention and Your Choices
Local information remains on your device until it is deleted or overwritten.
You can use the "Profile" → "Reset Progress" feature to clear game progress, XP, rewards, and preferences for the current profile. This action does not delete your local account or the credentials stored in the Keychain. Logging out ends the current session but preserves saved account information and progress. Deleting the app removes its app container data; however, items in the Keychain and separately stored device backups may remain. The current version does not provide a specific account deletion feature.
As we do not hold server-side copies of your local account or progress, we cannot remotely retrieve, recover, or delete this information.
6. Security
Card Trail utilizes iOS app storage protection mechanisms and Keychain security features to handle password verification data. No storage method is absolutely secure. Please protect your device with a passcode and avoid sharing your account password.
7. Contact Us
If you contact us, we receive the information you voluntarily provide (such as your email address and message content). We use this information to respond to your requests and retain it only as long as necessary to resolve issues or fulfill applicable legal obligations. Email service providers may process such communications while providing their services.
Please do not send your password.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app's functionality or information handling practices change. Updates will be reflected in the effective date. Before introducing significantly different uses of personal information, we will provide notice or obtain your consent as required.
